Venture Ashore adds 3 new extraordinary Alaska tours

Venture Ashore announced three new tours for its successful “Essential Collection”.

The Essential Collection is a carefully curated collection of itineraries designed to offer travelers an unforgettable experience at an affordable price.

A Skagway Yukon sled dog adventure will be led by former Iditarod runners, a whale-watching cruise in Juneau will offer up-close views of Mendenhall Glacier, and a Ketchikan trolley tour will be available.

The company’s “Essential Collection” offers travelers carefully crafted itineraries filled with the best experiences in the biggest cities around the world. The tours aim to maximize guests’ time on shore cruises with multi-port package savings in destinations from Cape Town to Cartagena and Barcelona to Venice.

“Demand for affordable shore excursions in Alaska has never been higher and that’s why we’ve expanded our portfolio and designed these experiences as an absolute must with our teams on the ground. “Savvy cruise travelers can now experience the best Alaska has to offer in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan with our Essential Collection experiences and take advantage of the great value of our multi-port packages,” said Rinat Glinert, Chief Operating Officer of Venture Ashore.

“We look forward to starting the year by providing our guests with the best itineraries at the best prices with the best opportunities, including seeing salmon streams, waterfalls, rainforests, and beaches – all in one state!”

HERE ARE SOME OF THE COMPANY’S LATEST ADDITIONS
Whale Watching and Mendenhall Glacier Combo Tour:

The tour begins with a drive through downtown Juneau to Auke Bay, where guests can look for humpback and orca whales, sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, and more. After arriving at the bay, guests will board the boat and begin cruising the waters of Alaska.

Expert guides will share wildlife information throughout the trip as they cruise through some of the Big Country’s most scenic spots. Shortly after, guests will head to the Mendenhall Glacier for unparalleled views. Afterward, guests will stop at the Visitor Center to learn more about the glacier. The tour starts at $217 per person.

Skagway Yukon Dog Sledding and White Pass Summit Adventure:

The adventure will begin on the Klondike Highway, where guests can enjoy views of incredible wildlife, waterfalls, glacier-capped mountains, and the White Pass Railroad. The trip closely resembles the 1898 Gold Rush trip on the White Pass to the Yukon. Shortly thereafter, guests will cross the Canadian border into the province of British Columbia through Tormented Valley, overlooking Summit Lake.
There will be plenty of photo opportunities for guests at the Welcome to Alaska, British Columbia, and Yukon signs.

Upon arrival at Tutshi Dog Sled Camp, you will meet the Yukon Quest and veterans. The camp exists exclusively for dog training. Guests will learn about the history of Canadian and Alaskan sled dogs and play with the dogs. Finally, guests will board a UTV-style dog sled pulled by Alaskan Huskies, a popular breed of a sled dog. The tour starts at $175 per person; Venture ashore.

Ketchikan Trolley Tour, Sakman Totem Village, and Herring Bay Wildlife:

Starting with a cable car ride, guests will pass through the city’s cannery, a city park, residential areas, and the waterfront. Travelers will also visit the popular Creek Street and Red Light District, which is famous for its wooden boardwalk. An expert guide will guide you through the history of the region during the tour.

Afterward, guests will arrive at Herring Bay and see the amazing wildlife in the area. Guests can expect bald eagles, black bears, blue herrings, and seals. Shortly thereafter, guests will arrive at Sackman Totem Village, Alaska’s only totem park with 29 real totem poles carved by Tlingit and Haida Native Americans. The pillars were moved to the village in the 1930s and restored by local carvers. Finally, guests have the option of stopping in downtown Ketchikan for shopping and sightseeing or returning to the cruise ship. The tour starts at $89 per person; Venture ashore.
