Costa Fascinosa re-introduced the obligation to wear masks in response to huge Covid-19 cases

On Costa Fascinoza, Captain Mario Moreta, in coordination with the shipping company and the medical staff on board, re-introduced the obligation to wear masks. Guests were informed about this in a cabin letter on July 29.

The mask requirement was decided in response to corona cases among guests and crew on board. Covers all interior parts of the Costa ship. Exceptions apply to eating and drinking in restaurants and bars and, of course, in your cabin. A mask should be worn outdoors if the minimum distance can no longer be maintained. On shore excursions, the shipping company Costa strongly advises wearing a mask indoors and on public transport. Medical masks or FFP 2 masks are recommended. But this is optional.

According to Costa Cruises, the health of guests and crew members is a top priority. Those infected on board are isolated from other passengers and crew members. You have no or only mild symptoms. Anyone who develops symptoms on a cruise should call a number for a corona test.

Costa Fascinosa is on cruises from Kiel and Copenhagen this summer. Boarding for German guests is in Kiel. The Italian shipping company’s ship is currently running a 12-day Northern Cape cruise. Yesterday, July 29, it was in Trondheim. Today she is anchored in Olden on the Nordfjord. Costa Fascinosa is expected back in Kiel on August 2.

Even if most guests on board are happy to experience unrestricted cruises again, some cruise lines have to reintroduce the mask requirement to stop the spread of Covid 19 on board. At this point, the mask requirement is more of a temporary measure to stop the infection process and offer guests the safest vacation possible.
