Norwegian Cruise Line is the most recent line affected by supply chain problems.
NCL will cancel the first six weeks of 2023 European voyages on the new Norwegian Viva, due to supply chain disruptions delaying ship delivery.
The 3,250-passenger Viva is the second ship in the line’s new Prima class. Her sister ship, Norwegian Prima, was also delayed this year due to supply chain issues but is scheduled to debut this month with a naming ceremony in Iceland on August 27.
Viva was supposed to start sailing on July 3, 2023. The line canceled Viva sailings through August 17 and repositioned Norwegian Getaway to take over canceled Viva sailings.
Guests can sail a comparable Getaway itinerary at a 20% discount off the cruise fare originally paid or cancel the current reservation on Viva and rebook at a later date.
Guests canceling their sailing must do so before September 2nd. All affected guests will receive a 10% discount for departures from August 28, 2023, to December 31, 2024.
