Carnival Cruise Line’s donation to St. Jude 2022 breaks the company’s own record.
Through the strength of its business and the generosity of its guests, Cruise Line broke the annual fundraising record for St. Mary’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Carnival Jude 2022 raised more than $3.5 million for the organization last year, surpassing the annual high of $2.8 million in 2018 and bringing the total since the partnership began in 2010 to $26.2 million.
It also achieved its largest fourth-quarter total ever, with more than $1 million raised in the final three months of the year. A testament to the name of the newest ship that was inaugurated in November, guests on that ship celebrated the launch of the Carnival Celebration by opening their wallets to support St. Jude, giving 30% cash during the month of their maiden voyage.
“These results are proof that Carnival Cruise Line has the kindest guests and most caring crew in the world who join us in our commitment to St. Jude’s lifesaving mission to find cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases,” said Kristin Duffy, president of Cruise Line and member of the Expert Advisory Board of St.
“As a cruise line that serves more children and families than any other, we are proud to have a long-standing partnership with St. Jude as we work toward our goal of raising $33 million for St. Jude until 2025.”
As an official partner for the St Jude celebration, hosts events at the hospital and raises money through various fundraising initiatives on board and ashore, including Groove for St Jude, Build-A-Bear Workshop at Sea where children can make their own memories on the subject of St. Jude. Jude and a package of cupcake toppings with proceeds for St. Jude. As an indication of the huge number of guests who supported St. Jude in 2022, and sold more than 100,000 St. Jude shirts. Jude Groove and more than 27,000 St. Judas the bear.
In addition to the on-site activations, last year Carnival launched a fundraising campaign for St. Jude is on the road with his Agentpalooza events in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Norfolk and Charlotte. At each stop, travel advisors were invited to donate to St. Jude and the effort raised an additional $60,000.
In addition to raising funds, the Carnival also emphasizes the mission of St. Run through patient-inspired artwork designed on Carnival Skyline, Carnival Panorama, Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras.
