Carnival ship celebrates 3 senior management

In the next three months before its first appearance, Carnival Cruise Line announced the senior management team for Carnival Celebration.

“We are proud to bring together this team of talented and knowledgeable maritime professionals to lead a dedicated crew on our next innovative Excel-class ship, Carnival Celebration.” We look forward to welcoming guests on vacation with all that this ship has to offer, and this team will ensure our guests have a great onboard experience,” said Carnival President Christine Duffy.

When Carnival Celebration completes her first week of service from Miami, Captain Alcaraz will also mark her 26th anniversary with Carnival Cruise Line.

In 1996, Captain Alcarras, who is originally from Italy, began working on the first Carnival celebration ship, MS Celebration, as Second Officer. He was promoted to the first officer on that ship and then two years later to the security officer.

Captain Vincenzo Alcaraz

He became the captain in September 2006 on the Carnival Miracle. Captain Alcarras has worked on several Carnival ships and was part of the inaugural newbuild team, overseeing the delivery of the Carnival Breeze and the newest ship in the Mardi Gras line.

“I have a strong connection with the celebration of Carnival, like islands in the sea, separated on the surface but connected in-depth,” Alcaraz said. “There is nothing like standing on the edge of the ocean, looking out at its vastness on the horizon, and this ship will be special to me because it holds a special part of my personal history with Carnival Cruise Line.”

Chief Engineer Fabien Gervaise

For over 22 years, Fabien Gervaise has worked on many Carnival ships, including several recent new builds.

Born in France, he moved with his family to Italy when he was a child, and began working with Carnival in April 2000 as the third engineer on Carnival Paradise. Within two years, he was promoted to second engineer.

In the early 2000s, Gervaise also served as an environmental officer. He became Chief Engineer in December 2013 on Carnival Breeze.

Hotel director Pierre Camilleri

Now in his 18th year with Carnival, Kamiller joined the company in 2004 as Director of Hotels after managing various hotels and resorts in his native Malta, as well as in Europe and Asia.

He has served as Hotel Director on several Carnival ships and was part of the inaugural teams for Carnival Breeze, Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon, and Mardi Gras.
