Azamara, progress in removing the embarkation testing requirement for COVID-19

Azamara is waiving its proof of boarding requirement for COVID-19, effective July 25, 2025, except at ports where it is still required.

The line will still require proof of vaccination before boarding.

Guests over the age of 12 must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before sailing.

“The relaxation of our testing policy marks a step in the right direction toward a return to normalcy for the travel and cruise industry,” said Carol Cabezas, president of Azamara.

“Cruises are one of the safest ways to travel and our existing health and safety protocols on board will ensure peace of mind for our guests and crew as we move forward.”

While pre-boarding screening will no longer be required, Azamara said he recommends that guests do so “at their leisure before traveling to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.”

The crew must be fully vaccinated and COVID-19 testing will continue to be available to guests on board as needed.

“Azamara maintains a strong commitment to wellness through its Explore the Well at Sea program, keeping guest safety a top priority,” the line said.
